Golden Mile Complex has long been considered The Little Thailand of Singapore. Here you will be able to find plenty of Thai produce and ingredients – great if you are planning for a homecooked Thai meal. Eateries manned by Thais take up a large portion of tenants in the building on the first 2 storeys.
There are several Mookata restaurants in Golden Mile. We headed to Y Cube Mookata Buffet on the second floor.
You pay first at the counter before entering and being seated at your table. Then like clock-work whatever apparatus required for you to cook your dinner is set before you.
The buffet spread is rather impressive with a wide array of seafood and meats available along with vegetables and other popular bites and condiments.
The variety of seafood available was impressive! Crayfish, flower crab, salmon, half-shelled scallops, mussels, clams .. needless to say these disappeared as soon as replenishments arrived.
Along with the large piece of raw lard that comes with the pan, you can help yourselves to the sauces available for added seasoning and flavouring. The Thai chilli sukiyaki sauce and one self-made with chopped garlic and parsley were good picks.
The soup was soon infused with all the delicious juices of the seafood and meat dribbling down.
