Apple Crumble

Apple Sauce
300gms sliced apples (with skin peeled)
30gms butter
30gms brown sugar
1/2tbsp lemon juice
1/2tsp cinnamon powder
1tbsp almond meal
1tsp vanilla essence
Crumble
35gms Top Flour (or cake flour – sieved)
35gms brown sugar
35gms butter
35gms almond meal
2tsp cinnamon powder
20gms crushed almond
Sliced almond (for topping, optional)
Method
Apple Sauce -
1) Melt sugar and butter together in a saucepan under low heat; set it aside when done.
2) Place sliced apples into a large mixing bowl
3) Add lemon juice, melted sugar/butter mixture, almond powder, cinnamon powder, vanilla essence into the apples
4) Mix well then set it aside
Crumble -
1) On a separate mixing bowl, add all the crumble ingredients except crushed and sliced almonds
2) Mix the mixture well, then set it aside
Baking process -
1) Preheat oven at 180C
2) On a baking tray/dish, lay the apple mixture evenly at the bottom of the baking tray/dish. Top the apple mixture with the crumble and sprinkle the crushed and sliced almond
3) Bake the apple crumble for 20mins
4) Once done, let it cool and the crumble should hardened up and will be crunchy
